When it comes to how to eat rice, what comes to many people's minds may be simple rice. In fact, there are many ways to cook rice in different regions, and with the pursuit of taste and style, there are also many flavors of rice. The most versatile way to cook rice is fried rice. Depending on each person's taste and preferred side dishes, there are many types of rice that can be paired, and basically they are not too difficult.

Mexican style rice

Ingredients: 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, 350 grams long-grain rice, 225 grams raw tomato paste, 1 teaspoon minced garlic, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, 1 teaspoon cumin powder, 950 ml water

1. In a medium deep pot, heat vegetable oil over medium heat.

2. Add the rice and fry for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently.

3. Turn to low heat and add raw tomato sauce, garlic, salt, pepper and cumin powder and stir together.

4. Add water and stir, cover the pot and cook for about 20 minutes.

Rice pancakes

Ingredients: 100g white rice, 1/2 potato (about 60g), 40g cabbage, 2 teaspoons (10g) chopped green onion, 1/2 teaspoon (3g) salt, 2 tablespoons (30ml) oil

Peel the potatoes, wash them and grate them into thin strips using a grater. Cut the cabbage into strips of the same thickness as the potatoes.

Mix the white rice, shredded potatoes, shredded cabbage and chopped green onions together, then add salt to taste.

Dip your hands in a little cold water and roll the mixed rice into a ball. Then flatten it into a cylinder with a diameter of 5 cm and a thickness of 2 cm.

Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat until it is 60% hot, put in the prepared vegetable and rice cakes, and fry until both sides are golden brown.

Ham and Corn Rice

Ingredients: 2 cups of white rice, 120 grams of ham, 120 grams of corn kernels, 80 grams of carrots, 100 grams of onions, 2 cups of water, a little chopped green onion, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 2 tablespoons of shallot oil

1. Cut the ham into small slices; wash and peel the carrots and onions, cut into small cubes and set aside.

2. Wash and drain the rice, put it into an electric rice cooker, add water and all seasonings, top with the ham slices, carrot cubes and onion cubes prepared in step 1, press the cooking button and cook until done.

3. After step 2 is cooked, turn on the rice cooker and mix well, then sprinkle with a little chopped green onion.
