How to make homemade breakfast dumplings

1. Pour glutinous rice flour (available in supermarkets) into a bowl and slowly add warm water, stirring while adding water. Do not add enough water at once, otherwise it will be difficult to control the softness of the dough.

2. The dough should be harder than the dough for making dumplings, basically 500 grams of flour plus 280 grams of water. Knead the dough several times until it no longer sticks to your hands.

3. Put the peanut butter and red bean paste in the refrigerator one day in advance to harden them, so that they can be shaped and easier to handle when making the dumplings the next day.

4. Fry and crush the black sesame seeds, then mix them with red bean paste and peanut butter. Chilled peanut butter, red bean paste, and black sesame seeds can be easily formed into various shapes.

5. Take a piece of the kneaded glutinous rice dough, flatten it, put the mixed filling of red bean paste and peanut butter in the middle, slowly gather the edges and shape it into a glutinous rice ball. Then use both hands to rub it into a smooth shape.

6. Place the formed glutinous rice balls on a plate and fry them for one or two minutes.

7. Bring water to a boil in a casserole or other container, put the wrapped glutinous rice balls in, bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer over medium heat for about five minutes. When the glutinous rice balls float up, simmer over low heat for one or two minutes to allow the filling to fully melt before serving.
