1. Prepare the necessary raw materials.

2. Put chopped green onion, appropriate amount of salt and corn oil into a small bowl and mix well. Prepare a little pepper powder.

3. Add a little baking soda to the old dough.

4. Dissolve with a little warm water and stir well.

5. After adding flour, knead repeatedly into a smooth dough.

6. Cover with lid and place in a warm place to ferment until it doubles in size.

7. Take out the risen dough, flatten it, release the air, knead it again, and divide it into two parts. (Divide it into two for convenience)

8. Take a portion of the dough and roll it into a large square piece. Spread it evenly with chopped green onion oil and then sprinkle a little pepper powder on it.

9. Roll up and cut into pieces about 3cm wide.

10. Take two pieces of dough and overlap them, then press down in the middle with chopsticks.

11. Pinch the two ends of the pressed dough and stretch it slightly, twist it into an S shape, and then pinch the joints at both ends together. (I just twisted it randomly, there is no rule)

12. Place corn leaves in the steamer to prevent sticking, and put the prepared raw flower rolls into the steamer for a second fermentation (it took me an hour to ferment). When it has risen to 1.5 times its original size, steam it over low heat. After it starts to boil, switch to high heat and steam for 15 minutes, then turn off the heat. Steam for another 3 minutes before opening the lid and taking out.
