Australian beef pie recipe

1. Cut steak, onion, mushrooms and king oyster mushrooms into small dices and set aside

2. Use a juicer or food processor to chop the beef tomatoes and garlic. Heat the pan with cold oil and fry the steak until it is colored (it will be put into the oven, so it cannot be too old). Then fry the mushrooms and king oyster mushrooms in the same pan (mushrooms are easy to release water, so they should be fried first). After the color is colored, add onions and sauté until fragrant.

3. Pour in step 2 and a little water, bring to a boil, season and finally add beef and mix well, let cool and set aside

4. Cut the butter into small cubes and put it back into the refrigerator until it hardens.

5. Put high-gluten flour, low-gluten flour and hardened butter cubes into a blender (use a paddle mixer and mix at first speed for about 1 minute) and blend until light yellow (the process is dry, if it becomes too sticky, it is a failure)

6. Slowly add water and egg, mix until the dough is plastic (the dough should not be sticky)

7. Shape it slightly, wrap it in plastic wrap and put it back in the refrigerator, let it rest for more than 30 minutes

8. Divide the pie crust into the required number of portions according to the size of the mold. Roll out 3/4 of a portion into the bottom and 1/4 into the lid. Make sure the roll is slightly larger than the mold. Trim with scissors and roll the excess back. Roll it out to a thickness of 0.3 cm (the crust should not be too thin because there is soup in the filling and my mold is very large. If the crust is not thick enough, it will become too salty. If you make a small crust, you don’t need to roll it that thick.)

10. Bake in the oven at 180 degrees for 40 minutes (usually the temperature of a home oven is higher, so adjust it according to the situation).
