How to make homemade spicy red oil

6. Pour vegetable oil into the pot and heat it to 40% hot. Add cinnamon, star anise, bay leaves, peppercorns, and ginger slices. Fry them over low heat until fragrant. Remove the spices.

7. Slowly add the mixed chili powder into the pot and simmer over low heat until the water in the chili powder evaporates;

8. Add the fried peanuts and serve after two minutes;

9. Put the prepared red oil into a bowl and let it cool;

10. After the red oil has cooled, pour it into a clean glass bottle together with the chili powder. You can also filter out the chili powder and bottle it separately, it depends on your preference!
