Delicious street food

Snacks are a common food in all parts of my country, and different regions have snacks with different characteristics. If you want to truly taste Chinese food, you must look for it among the snacks, so that you can understand the characteristics of different places. Sichuan's Three Cannons, Xi'an's Lamb Soup with Steamed Buns, and Beijing's Luzhu Huoshao are all well-known snacks in China. Understanding the characteristics of each place will give you more choices when traveling.

Braised fire

A traditional Beijing specialty snack, braised steamed buns are made by cooking steamed buns with stewed pork intestines and lungs, and served with fried tofu slices, blood tofu, marinade, garlic juice, fermented tofu sauce, coriander and other ingredients. The buns are cooked through without being sticky, and the meat is tender but not rotten, and is quite popular among Beijingers.

Spring Rolls

Rice Cake

It is a traditional snack popular in the Jiangnan area (Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai). It is a fried pastry. Because of its preparation method, it can also be called oil-fried rice cake. Other areas in the south call it fried glutinous rice cake. The outer layer of the glutinous rice cake is golden yellow, and the inner layer is snow-white soft and glutinous rice. It is fragrant and crispy when bitten, and it tastes crispy, salty and fresh in the mouth.

Pepper Pancake

Fresh and fragrant chopped green onions and finely chopped ham are seasoned with a salty and sweet taste, and then mixed with a certain amount of pepper and balsamic. In addition to the "leavened dough" of ordinary pan-fried buns, the outer skin is also added with a little "oil pastry" to make the bun not too crispy but not too hard to chew.

Roujiamo

It is the abbreviation of the ancient Chinese phrase “roujiayumo” and is one of the traditional specialty foods in Shaanxi Province, China. In Shaanxi Province, there are "Lazhi Roujiamo" using Baiji steamed bun, "Rou Saozi Roujiamo" from Xifu, Baoji (vinegar is put in the meat sauce), and "Tongguan Roujiamo" from Tongguan (different from Baiji steamed bun, its appearance is browned, with clear stripes, and it is layered inside. The bun is puffy, the skin is crispy and the inside is tender. It is cooked to perfection, and it is best eaten at a temperature that is hot. The old Tongguan Roujiamo is a hot bun with cold meat. The bun is crispy and the meat is fragrant, refreshing and not greasy).

Hot dry noodles are known as one of the four famous noodles in China, along with Henan stewed noodles, Shanxi knife-cut noodles and Sichuan dandan noodles. The noodles of hot dry noodles are thin and chewy, yellow and oily in color, and delicious in taste. Mixed with sesame oil, sesame paste, spicy powder, spiced pickles and other ingredients, it is full of color, aroma and taste.

Grilled Squid

Cut the whole squid or both sides into strips, usually small squids the size of a palm, place them on the grill, add peppers and other ingredients, grill them, and string the grilled squids into skewers, usually with only one squid in each skewer.
