How to make spiced shortbread

1. Prepare flour and salt and mix well

4. To make the pastry, put flour, five-spice powder and salt into a small bowl

5. Pour oil into the pan, add peppercorns, and fry over medium-low heat until fragrant.

6. Pour the hot oil into the flour and filter out the peppercorns.

7. Use chopsticks to stir into a paste

8. When the dough is fermented and has a honeycomb shape inside, remove the air from the dough and knead it until it is smooth.

9. Roll the dough into a pancake shape and spread the prepared puff pastry on the pancake skin.

10. Fold the left side of the crust to the right to 1/3

11. Fold the right side of the crust to the left.

12. Finally, fold it up and down

13. Use a rolling pin to roll the dough into a rectangular shape. Repeat the above steps, fold it three times, and finally roll it into a rectangular shape.

14. Cut into long strips with a knife

15. Spray a little water on the surface and sprinkle white sesame seeds

16. Line the baking tray with oil-absorbing paper or apply a layer of oil, place the finished pancakes on it, leaving a gap in the middle

17. Preheat the oven to 210 degrees and bake in the middle layer for 16 minutes

18. Take out the baked ones and let them cool down before placing them on a plate. They are crispy and delicious.

In order to make the taste better, restaurants usually add a lot of seasonings, which can easily affect health. The method of making five-spice baked shortbread uses less seasoning and is good for health.
