How to make mung bean, peanut and candied date rice dumplings (triangle rice dumplings)

The method of making mung bean, peanut and candied date dumplings (triangle dumplings) is very simple. Friends who want to be healthy but don’t have good cooking skills may wish to learn it.

1. Prepare the ingredients. Glutinous rice, mung beans, peanuts, candied dates, rice dumplings leaves, cotton thread, and horsetail grass.

2. Wash the rice dumplings leaves and horsetail grass, and cut off the petioles at the bottom of the leaves. Soak in clean water one day in advance.

3. Wash the peanuts, glutinous rice and mung beans, and soak them in clean water for 2-3 hours respectively.

4. Drain the soaked glutinous rice, mung beans and peanuts and put them in a large bowl. Add appropriate amount of white sugar.

5. Mix well and marinate for half a day to make it tasty.

6. Remove the core of the candied dates and cut into small pieces.

7. Take two pieces of rice leaves of appropriate size and overlap them.

8. Fold it into a cone shape without leaking at the bottom, and try to keep the leaves on the left and right sides crossed. As shown in the figure.

9. Add a spoonful of mixed mung beans, peanuts and glutinous rice. Shake it with your hands so that the glutinous rice fully fills the bottom.

10. Add a piece of candied dates. You can add more if you like.

11. Add a spoonful of mixed glutinous rice.

12. Use a spoon to tidy it up and press it down tightly.

13. Hold the conical bottom of the rice dumpling and fold the leaves on top downwards so that the leaves completely cover the conical mouth. As shown in the picture.

14. Fold the extra leaves on the left and right sides inward and press them tightly. As shown in the picture.

15. Pinch the extra leaves on the top, fold them into a corner, and then fold them down according to the angle of the rice dumpling. As shown in the picture.

16. Take a piece of horsetail grass or cotton thread to tie the rice dumplings tightly. The triangular rice dumplings are ready.

17. All the rice dumplings have been wrapped.

18. Put the wrapped rice dumplings into the pressure cooker. Add an appropriate amount of cold water, enough to completely submerge the rice dumplings. You can put heavy objects on the rice dumplings to ensure that they are completely immersed in water. Put the pressure cooker on high heat and cook for 30 minutes after it starts to boil.

19. After turning off the heat, simmer for another 30 minutes. This ensures that the rice dumplings are fully cooked and not undercooked. The cooked rice dumplings are particularly fragrant, and the green rice leaves are particularly appetizing.

20. Mung bean, peanut and candied date rice dumplings, with strong fragrance and soft glutinous rice. The mung bean, peanut and candied date are perfectly blended and sweet.
