1. What is clove seasoning?

Cloves, used as seasoning, belong to the genus Syringa in the Myrtaceae family. They are not closely related to the genus Syringa in the Oleaceae family in terms of classification. Cloves currently account for a small proportion in China, but in other Asian countries, cloves are still a widely used seasoning. Cloves are pungent and warm in nature; they enter the spleen, stomach, and kidney meridians; they are aromatic and dispersing; they have the effects of warming the middle and relieving adverse effects, dispersing cold and relieving pain, warming the kidney and assisting yang; they are mainly used to treat stomach cold and hiccups, vomiting and nausea, cold pain in the abdomen, diarrhea and dysentery, kidney deficiency and impotence, cold hernia in the yin, cold pain in the waist and knees, yin carbuncle, bad breath and tooth scurvy.

3. Clove production techniques

1. Cloves are mainly used in the preparation of condiments for meat, cakes, pickled foods, roasted nuts, candied fruits, and beverages;

2. For patients with stomach cold, hiccups and slow pulse, it can be combined with persimmon calyx, ginseng and ginger;

3. For those who suffer from long-term cold pain in the heart and abdomen, it can be combined with cinnamon bark, dried ginger, etc.

4. For those with kidney yang deficiency, impotence, spermatorrhea, coldness and infertility, and cold pain in the waist and knees, it can be matched with cinnamon bark, aconite root, deer antler glue, etc.

5. For patients with lower abdominal pain caused by cold hernia, it can be combined with Chuanlianzi, Fuzi, and Fennel.

Cooking uses: used as seasoning to improve flavor and enhance aroma. It is often used in making braised dishes, and is also used in making cakes and beverages. It is also one of the raw materials for "five-spice powder" and "curry powder".
