How to make Zhengao Laozao

1. One of the ingredients for Zhengao: half a small box of glutinous rice. Clean first.

2. The second ingredient for Zhengao is a handful of red beans. After washing, spread it on the glutinous rice.

3. The third ingredient for Zhengao is a handful of dates. Wash them and spread them on the glutinous rice and red beans.

4. Add water and appropriate amount of sugar to the bowl. Soak for about 1 hour. I added brown sugar.

5. Steam until cooked. I steamed it for 45 minutes because the pot was underpowered and I was afraid the red beans would be too hard.

6. The steamed cake is done. Turn it over and see if it is good.

7. Now it’s time for another protagonist of today, Laozao. I bought the current one directly at the supermarket.

8. The following process is simple. Put appropriate amount of water in the pot and bring it to a boil. Put it into the mash trough.

9. Add the Zhengao.

10. Stir it and you can use chopsticks to pick up large pieces of Zhengao into smaller pieces so that they are easier to cook.

11. Wait until the pot boils again and it will be ready. Warm and sweet~~
