How to clean squid

How to clean squid

Step 1: Peel off the skin of the cuttlefish, then use scissors to cut open the cuttlefish's belly, separate the head and belly, tear out all the internal organs in the belly, take out the small hard shell inside, and tear off the black film on the inner wall of the cuttlefish. Note: Many of the cuttlefish sold in the market have been cleaned by the stores, so you can proceed directly to the second step after buying them home.

Step 2: Use your index finger and thumb to tightly pinch the lower part of the cuttlefish's tentacles, squeeze hard, and pull out the small black dot in the middle. Then use scissors to cut open the cuttlefish's eyes, squeeze out the black juice inside, and then rinse it thoroughly. Note: When squeezing the cuttlefish's eyes, be sure to use a larger cutter, and then squeeze and rinse them in the sink. If the fruit is not cut big enough, the black juice inside will easily spread everywhere when you squeeze it. This can be avoided by operating in water. After the above processing, the cuttlefish can be used directly to cook dishes. If you don’t like ink sacs, you can remove them and use them in cooking. However, be careful when removing the ink sac not to break it, otherwise it will turn black and affect the taste of the dish.

Method 2 for cleaning cuttlefish : 1. There is also a relatively simple method for cleaning cuttlefish. Before cleaning, use scissors to cut open its belly, remove its head, take out all the internal organs in the cuttlefish's belly and throw them away, clean the black film inside, and finally remove the cuttlefish's mouth and wash it with clean water. 2. Here I would like to remind everyone that when removing the eyes of the cuttlefish, if you are not doing it in water, you should cut the opening larger so that it will facilitate the outflow of the ink in its body. Also, you should pay attention to squeezing the ink while flushing with water, otherwise it will spray everywhere, which is very unhygienic.

What should you do if the ink sac of a cuttlefish is broken? The method is very simple. First, soak the cuttlefish in hot water for 5 minutes, then rinse it with cold water and wash it off. But in fact, the ink sac and the juice in the ink sac are edible. If the cuttlefish is not very big, you can eat the whole one after washing it. 1. Cuttlefish ink contains a substance called mucopolysaccharide. Animal experiments have shown that it has a certain anti-cancer effect on mice. Therefore, it is recommended that you try not to throw away the ink sac or squeeze out the ink in the ink sac when cooking with cuttlefish. 2. In addition, only adult cuttlefish have cuttlefish bones, and baby cuttlefish usually have no bones.

Friendly reminder: Dried cuttlefish needs to be soaked in advance and set aside. The soaking time can be extended in winter and the water can be changed several times in the middle. Although the professional soaking method requires alkaline water to soak, the alkali will destroy some of the nutrients in the food. In addition, if it is not handled properly, it will easily leave an unpleasant smell of alkaline water, so use the most primitive method and soak it overnight before use.
