How to make pan-fried dumplings

1. Pan-fried pot stickers

Main ingredients: dumplings, soy sauce, cooking oil

  1. Put a spoonful of oil in a frying pan, heat the pan and oil, and place the dumplings neatly in the pan.

  2. After the dumplings are hot, pour the sauce into them: add one tablespoon of vinegar, one tablespoon of soy sauce and one tablespoon of flour to a bowl of water and stir well.

  3. Cover the pot and simmer over medium-low heat.

  4. When the water in the pot is almost dry, remove the lid, turn up the heat slightly, and use a spatula to gently push the edges of the pot.

  5. After turning off the heat, take a large plate and place it upside down on the dumplings in the frying pan, turn the whole pot upside down on the table, open the pot, and the pot stickers are ready.

Tips

When adding water to the pot, you don’t have to use the soy sauce and vinegar sauce, you can just add a bowl of water. If the dumplings are large, add two bowls of water at a time and fry them over medium or low heat. Just make sure the dumplings are cooked through.

  1. Pour a small amount of salad oil into the bottom of the pot and put in the raw dumplings

  2. Set aside boiling water, and when the oil temperature rises, pour it directly into the pot, about 60% of the water covers the dumplings.

  3. Cover the pot, turn on high heat and wait for about 3 minutes, then remove the lid. At this time, all the water has evaporated.

  4. Use a spatula to scoop up the pot stickers. If you find that the bottom of the pot stickers is already browned, serve them up and enjoy them immediately.

  2. Pour water into the pot until the dumplings are mostly submerged. Cover the pot and start cooking over medium-high heat. Continue cooking for five minutes after the water boils, then uncover and cook.

  3. When the water is almost dry after cooking with the lid open, you can increase the heat to reduce the water until it is almost dry and then you can remove from the heat. If you don’t like it to be too burnt, you can remove it from the pan when the water is almost dry.
