Many mothers, despite good nutrition after giving birth, do not have enough milk to meet the requirements of breastfeeding their babies. There are many reasons for insufficient milk after childbirth, one of the important reasons is eating stewed old hen after childbirth.

Why does eating stewed hen after giving birth lead to insufficient milk? This is because after giving birth, the concentrations of estrogen and progesterone in the mother's blood are greatly reduced, and prolactin will play a role in promoting lactation and stimulating milk secretion. However, if a woman eats stewed old hen after giving birth, the hen's ovaries and egg shells contain a certain amount of estrogen, which increases the estrogen concentration in the blood and weakens the effectiveness of prolactin, leading to insufficient milk or even complete milk withdrawal.

Androgens have the effect of counteracting estrogen. Rooster testicles contain small amounts of androgens. Therefore, if a postpartum woman eats a stewed rooster together with its testicles, it will undoubtedly promote increased milk secretion. However, if you find that your nipples are blocked, that is, your breasts are swollen but there is no milk, do not eat roosters to produce milk, otherwise it will cause mastitis.

What to eat during breastfeeding

If you accidentally eat foods that cause milk withdrawal and lead to insufficient milk during breastfeeding, women can eat more foods that can increase milk production to promote milk secretion.

1. Peanuts: Peanuts can be used to treat spleen deficiency, nausea, edema, leucorrhea in women, anemia, various bleeding diseases, dry cough, chronic dry cough, and postpartum lactation.

2. Luffa: Luffa is a traditional Chinese medicine. It tastes sweet and is cold in nature. If there is breast inflammation, lumps during milk production, or poor milk secretion, Chinese medicine practitioners will recommend stewing the luffa in broth. It can regulate breast qi and blood, promote lactation, and stimulate the appetite and reduce phlegm.

3.茭白: It is not only delicious and nutritious, but also contains carbohydrates, protein, vitamins B1, B2, vitamin C and various minerals. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that茭白 is sweet and cold in nature, and has the effects of relieving heat and toxins, preventing thirst, promoting defecation and promoting lactation. 4. Peas: Peas, also known as green beans, are sweet and flat in nature and are very rich in phosphorus, containing about 400 mg per 100 grams. 5. Tofu: Tofu has the effects of invigorating qi and harmonizing the stomach, promoting fluid production and moistening dryness, clearing away heat and detoxifying. It is also a lactation food. Boiling tofu, brown sugar and fermented rice in water and drinking it can produce milk.

6. Soup: It is said that drinking enough soup is good for milk production. You can choose different lactation-inducing soups according to the mother's taste, such as pig's feet stewed with peanuts, crucian carp soup, hen soup stewed with yam, clear-boiled black chicken soup, rice wine egg drop soup, etc. But mothers should be careful not to drink malted milk or other beverages containing malt, as it will cause milk to dry up.

7. Black sesame: Black sesame contains a variety of essential amino acids for the human body. With the participation of vitamin E and vitamin B1, it can accelerate the body's metabolic function. The iron and vitamin E in black sesame are important ingredients for preventing anemia, activating brain cells, and eliminating blood vessel cholesterol.
