1. Add sugar to a bowl, dissolve it in boiling water and add yeast when it is warm. (When adding yeast, the water temperature should be warm, about 30 degrees, not boiling water)

8. Take out the fermented dough, deflate it, and knead it into the original size again.

9. Take half of the dough, knead it into long strips, and divide it into several equal parts. (If you want to be more accurate, use an electronic scale to make sure each one is the same size)

10. Take a small portion and divide it into 3 small portions, and roll each portion into small strips of equal length.

11. Braid it into a braid.

12. After it is done, place it on a steaming rack that has been lightly oiled. (You can also use corn leaves or something like that)

13. Put it into the pot, cover it and let it ferment until it is 1.5 to 2 times its original size. (I have already added water to the pot at this time, so there is no need to wait for it to ferment and then add water)

14. Pour cold water into the pot, bring to a boil over high heat, then turn to medium heat and steam for about 5 minutes. After turning off the heat, continue to simmer for 3 to 5 minutes before opening the lid. Be careful when opening the lid to avoid water dripping onto the steamed buns.

15. Steamed braided buns.
