Steamed Egg with Salted Egg Yolk

Steamed Egg with Salted Egg Yolk

Steamed egg cake is a very suitable dish for some children who are starting to add complementary foods. Not only because of the high nutritional value of steamed egg cake, but also because it is very soft and suitable for children under one year old. Most parents do not add salt when making egg cake for their children, because eating too much salt is not good for the body. So, can we steam egg cake without egg yolk?

There are generally two ways to do this.

1. The ratio of eggs to water is 1:1 and must be stirred evenly {the water can be a little more}.

2 Add a little oil and fry the salted egg yolks until they are loose. You can add ham, shrimps, etc. according to your preference.

3 It is best to seal the container for steamed eggs with plastic wrap {otherwise the edges and the middle will easily cook together}.

The first method is to add eggs and water and mix well. {Add oil, MSG, salt, pepper according to your taste while stirring} and steam it over high heat for 3 minutes and medium heat for about 3 minutes {same as in a microwave oven}. Serve and top with the fried salted egg yolk and other ingredients.

The second method is to add water to the eggs and seasonings and mix well. Then add the fried and cooled salted egg yolks and ingredients and mix well. Steaming method is the same. If you have a better method, please feel free to share.

1. Beat 3 eggs in a bowl and stir them thoroughly in one direction.

2. Add hot water, the ratio of hot water to egg liquid is 1:1, add appropriate amount of salt and chicken essence according to personal taste, and stir in one direction again.

3. At this time, the egg liquid in the bowl will produce foam on the surface because it has been thoroughly stirred. Gently skim it off with a spoon.

Step 4

4. Put the processed egg liquid into the steamer and steam it for about 15 minutes. During this period, pay attention to the shape of the egg liquid. If the egg liquid bulges, leave a small gap in the lid.

5. While steaming the eggs, prepare the salted egg yolks. Crush the salted egg yolk with a spoon, put a little cooking oil in the pot, stir-fry the salted egg yolk over low heat until the egg yolk becomes sandy and slightly bubbles, then turn off the heat and set aside.

6. When the eggs are 90% cooked, you can gently spread the processed salted egg yolks on the surface of the steamed eggs. Steam them for another two minutes and then they are ready to be served.
