How long to cook rice cake

Rice cake is a traditional food, especially in the south where it is very popular. Each place has different ways of eating it, but when eating rice cake, most of the methods must be cooked first, and the time must be controlled. If the cooking time is too long, the nutrients in the rice cake will be lost. It takes about 20 minutes to steam the rice cake before other operations can be performed. It can be made into fried rice cake, boiled rice cake, spicy rice cake, etc.

Nian Gao (nián-gāo, rice cake; new year cake) is a traditional Chinese food and a seasonal food for the Lunar New Year. A kind of cake steamed with sticky glutinous rice or rice flour. During the Spring Festival, people in many parts of my country pay attention to eating rice cake.

Rice cakes come in three colors: red, yellow and white, symbolizing gold and silver. Rice cakes are also called "nianniangao", which is homophonic with "nianniangao", which means "higher every year", implying that people's work and life will improve year by year. Therefore, our ancestors wrote a poem about rice cake: "Rice cake has a deeper meaning, white like silver and yellow like gold. Ingredients

Appropriate amount of rice cake

Lean meat, pork belly

Garlic and ginger

Salt, MSG, soy sauce as needed

Methods/Steps

Cut the rice cake into thin slices, wash and set aside

Cut the lean meat into shreds and cut some pork belly.

Chop the garlic, ginger and dried pepper into small pieces and set aside.

Heat oil in a pan.

Add the pork belly and fry until fragrant oil comes out.

Add lean meat and stir fry until cooked

Add garlic, ginger slices and diced dried peppers and stir-fry until fragrant.

Add appropriate amount of water and bring to boil.

Add rice cake after water boils.

The rice cake will become soft after being put into the pot for a while, so add appropriate amount of salt.

Add soy sauce for color.

Add appropriate amount of MSG for seasoning and then serve.

The rice cakes don’t need to be cooked for too long, just cook until they are soft. A delicious breakfast is ready.

Methods/Steps

1. Prepare a pack of rice cakes (mine is 400 grams, just cut off half);

2. Remove the membrane, soak and wash;

3. Take out and drain the water;

4. 800ml of water, add a handful of wolfberry;

5. Boil water, add rice cake, stir constantly, do not let it stick to the pot;

6. Add vegetables, some garlic and salt;

7. Cook for one minute and turn off the heat;

8. Boil the rice cake and serve.
