How to make double-color butter bread

In a busy life, it is a great happiness to be able to have a delicious meal when you return home. If you don’t have much time to prepare dinner, you can choose simple ingredients, stir-fry them briefly and they are ready to go. The method of making double-color butter bread is that simple.

1. Put half of the high-gluten flour, yeast, milk powder, condensed milk, eggs and sugar in a bowl! Steam the purple sweet potato and mash it into a paste in advance, then add it to any bowl!

2. Stir it with chopsticks first, then add appropriate amount of warm water and stir it into snowflake shape with chopsticks, and then knead it into dough with your hands! The dough should be kneaded until it is no longer sticky and the surface is smooth! Cover with plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes (many people knead it into a hand mask at this step, but I kneaded it until my hands were about to break but it didn’t work)

3. After it has rested, add the softened butter and continue kneading until the butter has expanded!

4. Add butter and knead until the butter is expanded!

5. Cover with plastic wrap and place in a warm place to ferment until it doubles in size.

6. After fermentation, take it out and continue kneading!

7. Knead until you feel the gluten. Of course, it would be even better if you can form a film! The purple sweet potato dough also needs to be kneaded to develop a gluten texture! Adding butter will prevent your hands and chopping board from sticking. If the dough still sticks after adding butter, it means that the dough is not kneaded enough!

8. First, take an appropriate amount of white dough and roll it into a dough sheet. Then take an appropriate amount of purple potato dough, roll it out and put it on the white dough and roll it up! I forgot to take a photo of rolling the purple sweet potato dough!

9. Cut it with a knife and decide the size yourself. Put it in the baking tray, cover it with plastic wrap and let it ferment for 30 minutes! Keep some distance between them!

10. After fermentation, brush the bread with a layer of egg liquid!

11. Put it in a preheated 185 degree oven and bake for 18 minutes! I baked it on two layers, so I had to switch the upper and lower layers during baking so that the heating would be more even!

12. The bread is baked, it smells so good! When it’s cool, store it in a plastic bag!

13. There was still some purple sweet potato dough left, so I made a few round breads!

14. Although it is not a thin hand mask, it tastes very good. You can try it if you like it!
