How to make homemade sweet rose bread

1. First, put all the ingredients except butter into a dough bowl and knead until the dough is smooth. Then add the butter and knead until it forms a film. (You can’t afford to get hurt by kneading the dough by hand!)

2. I kneaded the dough at night, and it had risen well when I took it out the next day (about 15 hours). After venting the air, I let it ferment again at room temperature until it was 2 to 2.5 times its original size. If you are in a hurry, you can skip the cold fermentation step and ferment directly at room temperature until it is 2 to 2.5 times larger.

3. Take an appropriate amount of dough and cut it into pieces that are slightly larger than the dumpling pieces.

4. Arrange the dough vertically as shown in the picture. Be careful not to get too much flour on both sides of the dough. I make a group of six.

5. Pinch a small piece of dough and roll it into a small dough stick as thick as a pencil and as long as the diameter of the dough. Place it on the dough at the bottom of Figure 4, then roll it up from bottom to top, as shown in the picture, and cut it in the middle.

6. The beauty of the flower shape is closely related to the tightening of the base, and the shaping of the petals is also crucial! The operation is as follows: first, pinch the outer edge of the cut surface and the bottom surface and gather them toward the center of the base, so that the overall shape of the flower will be larger at the top and smaller at the bottom. Then use the handle of a small spoon to gently press the edges of the petals outward, from the base to the top in one go. After finishing each petal, the flower will bloom and the overall shape will be very harmonious.

7. After everything is shaped, place it on a baking tray, put it in the oven, put a bowl of boiling water at the bottom of the oven, close the door and let it ferment for about 40 minutes until it is 2.5 times larger.

8. Brush with egg liquid and sift powdered sugar (if you don’t have powdered sugar, you can make it yourself. I used ordinary white sugar at home, which I crushed into powder in a glass bottle with uniform coarseness and fineness. It can be used after sifting!), put it into the preheated oven, bake at 190 degrees for about 20 minutes, and wait for it to bake through in a room filled with fragrance!

9. The finished product is crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, rich in milk flavor, sweet and happy!
