Benefits of beta-carotene

Benefits of beta-carotene

Carrots are delicious vegetables and their nutritional content is higher than that of ordinary vegetables. There are many ways to eat carrots, raw or fried. Many stir-fried dishes will add a few slices of carrots for balanced nutrition. The main nutrition in carrots is carotene, and β-carotene is the purest natural pigment. After being absorbed by the human body, it can be converted into vitamin A. Vitamin A is an essential substance for human metabolism, so β-carotene has great benefits for the human body.

1. Health care for the visual system.

The rod cells on the retina contain rhodopsin and have the function of dark vision. An appropriate amount of β-carrot can promote the normal content of rhodopsin, thus avoiding the slow adaptation to dark vision caused by lack of vitamin A, and also avoiding the damage to the eyes caused by strong light after dark vision. In addition, it can also prevent night blindness, dry eyes, corneal ulcers and keratomelia;

2. Health care for skin tissue.

VA is necessary to maintain the integrity of all epithelial tissues, and β-carrot can be converted into VA in the human body. Therefore, the intake of a certain amount of β-carotene is important for maintaining normal body surface, digestive tract, respiratory tract, reproductive urinary tract, and endocrine tract functions, and can prevent skin diseases such as dandruff, keratinization, epidermal cell scaly, and polykeratinous blood eruption skin xerosis. β-carotene also has a good effect on the stability of cell membranes. It can also be used to treat "sunitis," an inflammation caused by excessive sun exposure.

3. Delay aging.

β-carotene can increase the activity of red blood cells. Peroxide free radicals can accelerate human aging, and people figuratively call them the "garbage" of the body. Beta-carotene can neutralize the peroxide free radicals in the body, thus delaying aging.

4. Resist adverse environment.

People who often work in dark rooms, strong light, high temperatures or deep water environments, as well as those who work with radiation and those who watch TV frequently should take additional β-carotene to resist adverse environments.
