How to make zongzi with yellow rice and meat

1. Soak the dried zongzi leaves overnight, wash them several times after soaking, boil the leaves in boiling water for 5 minutes to sterilize them, remove them and let them cool naturally. Soak the yellow rice overnight, wash and drain the water for later use. Soak the cowpeas overnight in advance. The longer the soaking time, the better. Only when the cowpeas are soft and rotten will they taste good. Soak the raisins in cold water for 5 minutes.

2.1 Add green onion and ginger and marinate for at least four hours. I marinated it overnight and it was very flavorful.

3.2 Cut the pork into small pieces, pour into a clean bowl, add light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, cooking wine, salt, 13 spices, and pepper, and stir.

4.1 After adding the seasoning, stir evenly with a spoon or chopsticks.

5.2 Drain the millet and pour it into a clean bowl. Add the marinated meat, yellow beans, raisins, cooking wine, light soy sauce, vinegar, olive oil or sesame oil.

6. Take a deep large bowl and cover it with rice dumplings leaves, one on top of the other.

7. After spreading, pour in the mixed yellow rice and meat.

8. Wrap the exposed leaves towards the center and secure with toothpicks.

9. Put it in a steamer, heat it over high heat, then turn to medium heat and steam it for more than an hour after boiling.
