How to sterilize homemade red wine

How to sterilize homemade red wine

Every year when grapes are on the market, my family starts to dry the wine in a hurry, because wine has good nutritional value, and it is safer to make your own wine. There is no need to worry that the wine may be mixed with a lot of sugar or processed foods. Sterilization is also required when making wine, because this is the only way to ensure that the wine you drink is healthy and safe.

How to sterilize the wine you brew?

The correct way to make wine at home is to first choose disease-free grapes, wash them carefully one by one, then crush the grapes, put them in bottles and cover them. The alcohol in the wine is produced by the sugar in it under the action of yeast. Put it in a warm place and wait for the grapes to ferment naturally for the first time. After 6 to 18 days, change the cans or bottles for "secondary fermentation". It is best to use wide-mouthed bottles made of glass. The second fermentation time is about one week. After the wine has been allowed to stand and clarified, it is best to put it in small bottles for storage and drinking.

Home-brewed wine has different sweetness and sourness depending on the amount of sugar added and the temperature at which it is made. Citizens can use different production techniques according to their different tastes. The most worrying thing about home-brewed wine is that it is not sterilized during the production process before being consumed. You should know that the total number of colonies in homemade wine that has not been sterilized can reach thousands or even tens of thousands. If the elderly, weak or people with poor stomachs eat these foods containing bacteria, it is easy to cause adverse reactions such as diarrhea, which is harmful to the body.

Homebrewed wine can be disinfected by the following method: wash the wine bottle and set it aside, filter the brewed wine, put it into the bottle, seal the bottle mouth with a plastic bag for food, tie the bottle mouth tightly with a rope, and put it in a jar to steam. Wait until the water in the pot starts to bubble up (the water temperature reaches 70 degrees, do not boil, otherwise the alcohol will evaporate), then turn off the fire and simmer for a few minutes before taking it out. Wine that has been sterilized can be consumed safely.
