Salmon is known as the "king of fish" and is the most popular fish ingredient in Western cuisine. It is also called salmon fish or salmon fish. At the same time, different countries have certain differences in the definition, scope and types of salmon. From a commercial perspective, there are more than 30 species of salmon with the most commercial value. So how should salmon be eaten? How to eat salmon in a healthy and delicious way?

1. Belly and abdomen

These two parts are best eaten as sashimi, especially the belly. The belly is the most fat, tender and fragrant part of the whole salmon, with the highest fat content and the best taste. It has many loyal fans, but of course some people think it is too fat.

The abdomen is slightly second, with a slightly lower fat content than the belly, but Japanese restaurants generally use it to make sashimi, because it does not taste as greasy as the belly and is acceptable to most people.

2. Back

The fishy smell of salmon bones is not very strong. After being marinated, they are coated with egg liquid and cornstarch and fried. In many Japanese restaurants, chefs will make sashimi together with the abdomen and back, so the back is also eaten raw unknowingly. In fact, the back is more suitable for eating after being cooked. The method is also very simple. Just marinate it with salt and black pepper, fry it and then drizzle it with lemon juice.

Like steak, salmon can be cooked to different degrees of doneness according to your preference. However, if the cooking time is too long, the salmon meat will become dry and tough, making it inedible. So a good way to fry salmon is to choose a cast iron pan, fry the skin side of the fish until crispy first, then turn it over, turn off the heat, and use the remaining temperature in the pan to fry the fish.

In addition, never boil salmon in plain water, as this will cause the salmon to lose most of its flavor. If you must boil it, add some lemon or garlic to the water.

3. Fishtail

The best ways to prepare salmon tail are to make sushi or grilled salmon. Because the meat at the tail of the salmon does not have much moisture, the fat content is not high, the taste is average, and the color does not look good when made into sashimi. However, if combined with sushi rice, these shortcomings can be covered up to a certain extent.

Another option is grilled salmon tail, which is similar to fried salmon. First marinate it with salt and black pepper, put tin foil on the baking tray, spread butter on it, preheat the oven to 200 degrees, and bake the fish tail in the oven for 20 minutes.

4. Fish head

Of course, fish heads cannot be eaten raw, and the most perfect way to prepare them is to use them to make soup.
