Fish suitable for babies

Fish suitable for babies

Fish has extremely high nutritional value and is one of the essential ingredients in life. Fish is easy to catch and cook, and has long been a staple on people’s tables. Among them, the easy digestibility of fish makes it very suitable for supplementing the baby's body needs. There are many varieties of fish. Which ones are suitable for babies to eat? Let’s take a look at the explanation below, I hope parents can understand it.

1. Salmon

Salmon has small scales and few bones, its flesh is orange-red in color, and its texture is tender and delicious. It can be eaten raw or cooked into dishes, but it cannot be eaten raw when fed to babies; it must be cooked.

Salmon is very rich in protein, higher than other fish. The omega-3 fatty acids it contains are essential substances for the brain, retina and nervous system, and the DHA it contains has the effect of enhancing brain function.

2. Cod

Cod meat is sweet and nutritious. The protein content is higher than that of salmon, pomfret and hairtail, and the fat content is low, 17 times lower than that of salmon and 7 times lower than that of hairtail. The liver is high in oil, and in addition to being rich in DHA and DPA in ordinary fish oil, it also contains vitamins A, D, E and other vitamins necessary for the human body.

3. Longli fish

Longli fish has a smooth taste, the fish meat can be cooked for a long time without becoming tough, and it has no fishy or peculiar smell. It is high in protein and rich in nutrients. The omega-3 fatty acids contained in its fat can inhibit free radicals in the eyes, prevent the formation of new blood vessels, and reduce the occurrence of lens inflammation. This is why it is also called "eye-protecting fish."

4. Grouper

Don’t be fooled by grouper’s ugly and “hard” appearance. In fact, its meat is tender and white, similar to chicken, and is known as “chicken of the sea”. It has a high protein content and a low fat content. In addition to containing the amino acids necessary for human metabolism, it is also rich in a variety of inorganic salts and iron, calcium, phosphorus and various vitamins.

5. Silverfish

Whitebait is a high-protein, low-fat fish that is rich in calcium. Eating it can promote the healthy development and growth of bones in babies. Whitebait also contains a small amount of iron, which helps prevent iron deficiency anemia. Whitebait does not have large fish bones and is very suitable for children to eat. When feeding it to your baby, you can chop it into fish paste and add it to rice paste or porridge.
