Some time ago, a canned food factory in Henan Province launched a series of fairy cicada health foods made from young cicada ingredients and scientifically formulated and refined. The food retains the nutrition of the cicada and has a delicious, crispy taste, which is favored by consumers.

Cicadas are a specialty of Henan. It was reported that fried cicadas are sold for 30 yuan for 10 strings in Zhoukou District, Henan Province. Some cicadas are cultivated by professionals in some villages. They first collect cicada eggs on branches and bury them in the soil around the roots of trees. Then they set up plastic sheds and wait for the new cicadas to break out of the ground in groups. Farmers first put the young cicadas into salt water to let the cicadas spit out the smell of soil and dirt, and then sell them in the market. Due to the heat, they make considerable income every time.

Research has found that young cicadas are rich in protein, containing 72 grams per 100 grams, which is 3.5 times, 3 times and 4.3 times that of beef, chicken and pork. It also contains 15 grams of fat, 1.5 grams of ash, as well as chitin, calcium, phosphorus, iron and other vitamins. Cicadas are very beneficial in promoting development, replenishing the body's metabolic consumption, and have excellent auxiliary therapeutic effects on the rehabilitation of patients with physical weakness.
