What can you do with the dough for making dumplings?

Making dumplings is a very fun activity. It not only allows people to experience the pleasure of making delicious food, but also provides people with wonderful delicacies. The method of making dumplings is relatively simple, but people often encounter the phenomenon of dead dumpling skin in the process, which seriously affects the utilization rate of the dumpling skin. Let’s take a look at what can be done with the dough for making dumplings.

Method 1: Make scallion pancakes

1. Add warm water to flour to make a soft dough and let it rest for 20 minutes.

2. Prepare peanut oil, salt, and chop green onions for later use.

3. Roll the dough into a ball, pour in a little peanut oil and spread evenly, sprinkle with salt and chopped green onions.

4. Roll up from one end.

5. Twist into a twist shape.

6. Flatten and round.

7. Add oil to the frying pan and fry over low heat until both sides are golden brown.

Method 2: Making golden silk cake

1. Cut the dough into even-sized pieces with a knife and roll them into thin round cakes with a rolling pin.

2. Sprinkle a small amount of salt (or sugar, five-spice powder, etc., according to your taste) on the rolled round cake and spread it evenly.

3. Pour a little cooking oil on the dough evenly sprinkled with salt, fold the dough in half and spread the oil evenly on the surface.

4. Use a knife to cut the dough into thin strips and twist them into a twist shape.

5. Slowly roll the long twisted strips into a ball, spiraling from the bottom to the top. Then sprinkle with sesame seeds (or peanuts, etc.) and flatten for later use.

6. Pour oil into the hot pan, then put the prepared dough into the pan at once, fry over medium heat until one side is golden brown, then turn it over and fry the other side until golden brown, serve on a plate and you are done.

Other usage:

1. You can knead the dough and roll it into dough sheets. These are not the 2/3 cm wide dough sheets we see in supermarkets, but random, large, slightly thin dough sheets, commonly known as "dough leaves". Some old people like to eat this kind of noodles. Put the noodles into clear water, or put them into the first pot of dumplings. Take out the noodles, add a little salt, sesame oil and coriander. Suitable for people who want to change their appetite and eat a lighter meal.

2. Wrap the dough with plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator. Wrap it next time, or knead it into the dough when steaming steamed buns.

3. You can also throw it away. But this is too wasteful and is not recommended.
