Lotus root stewed with tofu

Lotus root stewed with tofu

Lotus root stewed with tofu is also a common home-cooked dish. We know that lotus root is a common vegetable. It has a good conditioning effect on the body, such as beautifying and nourishing the skin, replenishing qi and blood, and nourishing the body. Tofu contains high-quality plant protein, which has a good conditioning effect on the human body. The method of stewing lotus root with tofu is relatively simple, and the ingredients required are relatively few. Let’s take a look at how it is made.

Lotus root stewed with tofu

1: First cut the lotus root into slices, rinse it with clean water, put it into a pot, add water and cook it, then remove it and set aside.

2: Next, cut the tofu into 2 pieces, and then into triangles (i.e. 1 piece of tofu is cut into 4 triangles), put them into the pan and fry until golden brown and then take them out.

3: Finally, add some oil to the pan and sauté the ginger, then add water, a little brown sugar, 1 tablespoon of light soy sauce, half a tablespoon of dark soy sauce, and a little salt for seasoning (I personally don’t like chicken essence, if you like you can add some). Put the previously cooked lotus root slices and tofu into the pot. Boil the water into juice, add some chopped green onions, and it's ready to serve.

The benefits of eating lotus root and tofu together

1. Increase nutrition

Lotus root and tofu are both very nutritious. The nutrients of these two foods complement each other, and eating them together can provide rich nutrition to the human body.

2. Nourish blood and nourish skin

Both lotus root and tofu are rich in iron, which is an indispensable element for the hematopoietic system. These two foods can replenish qi and blood for the human body, making the face look rosy and shiny, and have certain blood-replenishing and beauty-enhancing effects.

What should you pay attention to when eating lotus root?

1. Lotus root is not suitable to be eaten with cold foods such as white radish and chrysanthemum, because these foods are all cold foods. Eating them together may aggravate the coldness in the body and be detrimental to your health.

2. Lotus root is a cold food. It is not suitable for people with poor spleen and stomach function and loose stools. It should also be noted that although postpartum women can eat lotus root, they should not eat it too early. Generally, it can be eaten about 7-14 days after delivery.
