Hebei recipes home cooking

As one of the more important provinces in my country, Hebei has a relatively long history and, of course, its food culture is also relatively rich. In Hebei Province, there are many delicious foods, such as tile fish in sauce, chicken fillet, fried meatballs, and golden lionfish, which are well-known foods in Hebei and even in the whole country. Below, I will introduce to you how to make these home-cooked dishes!

1. Tile fish with sauce

Tile fish in sauce is a specialty of Hebei Province. It is one of the recipes for nourishing the body and therapeutic diet. There are four main schools of Hebei cuisine, namely the Zhili official cuisine represented by Baoding area, the palace frontier cuisine represented by Chengde and other places, the eastern Hebei coastal cuisine represented by Tangshan and other places, and the central and southern Hebei plain cuisine represented by the provincial capital Shijiazhuang.

Tile fish in sauce is a coastal dish from eastern Hebei Province. It is characterized by rich ingredients, delicate knife skills, fresh taste, and emphasis on clear oil and starch. The dish is served in exquisite Tangshan porcelain containers, which is unique in style.

2. Chicken Jump

Jilibeng is a famous Han Chinese dish with great color, aroma and taste. It uses large prawns, a specialty of Baiyangdian Lake, and domesticated chicks as the main ingredients. It is a combination of sweet, salty and mellow flavors, rich in nutrition and is truly a first in the history of northern Chinese cuisine. Jilibeng is a local specialty with good color, aroma and taste, belonging to the Hebei cuisine. This dish is made with giant prawns, a specialty of Baiyangdian, and domesticated chickens as the main ingredients. Baoding chefs were bold in their innovations in the early Qing Dynasty, combining two fresh ingredients, making it sweet, salty, mellow and nutritious.

3. Southern Fried Meatballs

Meatballs from all over the country are round, except for the Nanjian meatballs from Baoding Prefecture, which are flat and shaped like chess pieces. In ancient times, Baoding City was mainly transported by water. The waters in the Nanqi and Beiqi areas are extensive, and the road network is dense. There are many guild halls in Baoding Prefecture, and goods from the north and south gather here, bringing in local specialties such as winter bamboo shoots, shiitake mushrooms, and sea cucumbers. The chefs of Nanqi use local water chestnuts, combined with southern magnolia slices, meat fillings, and sea cucumbers to make meatballs.

4. Golden Lionfish

Golden lionfish is a traditional famous dish. It looks very beautiful and has a great origin. This dish originated in the early Republic of China and was first created by Yuan Qingfang, a famous chef at the Zhonghua Restaurant in Shijiazhuang City. The dish got its name because of its golden color and lion-like shape.

Carp not only has high protein content, but also good quality, which can provide the human body with essential amino acids, vitamins, etc.; carp's fat is mostly unsaturated fatty acids, which can effectively lower cholesterol, and can prevent and treat arteriosclerosis and coronary heart disease. Therefore, crucian carp is the first choice for this dish.
