Fish heads are rich in nutrients, that’s for sure. Because the content of DHA (22-carbon hexaenoic acid) and EPA (20-carbon pentaenoic acid) in fish heads is higher than that in fish meat. These two unsaturated fatty acids are beneficial for softening blood vessels, lowering blood lipids, improving brain health and delaying aging. But you should also know that fish heads contain relatively high levels of pesticides. According to relevant research data, the amount of pesticide residues in fish heads is 5 to 10 times higher than that in fish meat. This is because fish heads are rich in blood vessels and are dense areas of pesticide residues and other toxic chemicals. At present, the animal husbandry and planting industries in most parts of my country's rural areas have entered the chemical age. It is a common phenomenon that some farmers use excessive amounts of chemical fertilizers and pesticides to increase the yield per unit area. The irrigation water, rainwater, river water and groundwater in the farmland bring residual pesticides in the soil into the river. After being eaten, plankton in the water enters the fish's body through the food chain and gradually accumulates, and its toxicity also slowly increases.

Many people like to eat chicken heads, duck heads, goose heads and fish heads. Indeed, these fish and poultry heads are delicious and have high nutritional value. However, this "head" also has many disadvantages. Nowadays, chicken heads, duck heads, fish heads and goose heads have become fashionable delicacies on the dining table. Little do people know that most of these poultry and fish heads are poisonous.

From a modern medical point of view, the reason is that chickens eat substances containing harmful heavy metals when pecking. These heavy metals are mainly stored in brain tissue. The older the chicken is, the more they store and the more toxic they are.

While consumers enjoy the delicious taste of chicken heads, they also ingest heavy metal poisons. If they consume too much, it may cause poisoning reactions. Therefore, it is not advisable to eat too much chicken head. It is also not advisable to eat too much duck heads, goose heads, etc. The reason is similar.

What about fish heads? Due to the overall environmental deterioration in recent years, water pollution has increased, causing harmful substances to invade the fish body. In addition, fish, especially carnivorous or omnivorous fish, are at the top of the aquatic food chain, so these harmful chemicals accumulate the most in their bodies. This phenomenon is medically known as enrichment.
