How to make milk sweet steamed buns

With fresh ingredients and proper cooking methods, you can enjoy the deliciousness of the dishes. The dish of milk sweet steamed buns only needs to be simply steamed, then poured with sauce and served with a bowl of fragrant rice. It is an absolute match with rice. Foodies can use their own imagination to add coriander for flavor and decoration.

1. Mix whole wheat flour and low-gluten flour

2. Fresh milk is too cold to be refrigerated. Use warm water to warm the milk.

3. Add yeast to warm milk and stir until dissolved, then add sugar and stir until dissolved. 2g yeast in the picture

4. Slowly add the melted yeast, sugar and milk into the flour and stir with chopsticks

5. Pour all the milk in and mix into small powder cubes

6. Knead the powder into dough (it is recommended to use a deeper plate, mine is too shallow and the powder keeps coming out)

7. Put it in a bowl and cover it with plastic wrap. Because the temperature is low now, I will put it next to the stove to ferment when cooking.

8. After about 30-40 minutes, remove the plastic wrap and poke a small hole with your finger. If it doesn't bounce back, it means it's done. Put it on the chopping board and rub it to produce bubbles. Knead it for about ten minutes.

9. Flatten the kneaded dough with your hands. It is best to have a rolling pin, which can make the dough flat, smooth and of uniform thickness.

10. To make heart-shaped buns, roll out the dough to your preferred thickness and press it out with a mold.

11. If the dough is large, you can divide it into several portions.

12. I rolled the remaining dough into thin slices, stacked them a little apart, and used chopsticks to press a mark in the middle. I then slowly rolled up the bottom slice.

13. After rolling, use a knife to cut along the chopstick marks to form two roses. Arrange the petals into shape. If the outer corners cannot stick, wet your finger and apply water to make it sticky.

14. The shape after everything is done. Then place it on the steamer in the cold water pot.

15. Because I didn’t have gauze, I used oil-absorbing paper as a base. Cover the pot and let it ferment for 20 minutes.

16. Steam over high heat for a few minutes until steam appears, then steam over medium heat for 10 minutes. Turn off the heat and simmer for 3-5 minutes (do not open the lid). After simmering, open the lid and tilt it to 90 degrees. Let the water droplets on the lid slide along the edge of the pot and fall into the pot. Try not to drip on the buns, otherwise the skin will wrinkle and look ugly.

17. Remove the wax paper while it is still hot. It will be difficult to tear it off when it cools down (you can skip this step by using gauze)
