How to make lotus leaf cake (steamed bun)

1. Dissolve yeast powder in warm water, pour the yeast water into flour and salt several times, knead into a smooth dough, and ferment in a warm place for one hour.

2. Take out the fermented dough, knead it evenly, and divide it into small doughs of 40 grams each.

3. Roll the dough into a round shape, brush it with a layer of sesame oil, and fold it into a semicircle.

4. Pinch the center of the semicircle with your thumb and index finger to form the petiole of the lotus leaf; use the back of a knife to press out the veins of the lotus leaf on the dough.

5. Cover with cloth and let rise for 20 minutes; put in boiling water and steam over high heat for 10 minutes, then turn off the heat.

In the preparation of lotus leaf cake (steamed bun), there is no need for various fancy methods, only simple operations are needed. It can be taken out of the pan very quickly, and the stir-frying makes it more fragrant and fully awakens the taste buds.
