1. Heat the milk to about 35 degrees to dissolve the yeast

2. Pour the flour into a clean bowl, pour the dissolved yeast into the flour, then slowly pour in the previously heated milk, and stir slowly with chopsticks.

3. Finally, knead it into a slightly softer dough with your hands and wrap it with plastic wrap to ferment.

4. After more than two hours, the dough is fermented and has a honeycomb shape.

5. Expel the air from the fermented dough, knead it until smooth, wrap it with plastic wrap, and let it rest for 20 minutes.

6. Pour hot milk into the ratio of cornmeal to ordinary flour (1:2). The temperature of the milk should be between 45 and 75 degrees.

7. Use the above method to make dough. Cornmeal is added to the dough, so it doesn’t matter if the surface is smooth. Wrap it with plastic wrap and set aside.

8. Divide the dough into several evenly sized pieces

9. Use a rolling pin to roll the dough into a suitable thickness.

10. Put the red bean paste in the middle

11. Wrap it into a bun, or wrap it in any way you like, place it with the smooth side facing up, and cover it with a clean wet cloth to prevent the surface from drying out.

12. Divide the corn dough into several pieces of uniform size.

13. Press into small round cakes with your hands

14. Cut into several pieces with a knife, do not cut off

15. Use your thumb and index finger to pinch each half into a petal shape.

16. Use a toothpick to press out patterns on each petal.

17. Dip a little milk on the back of the finished flower, put it on top of the freshly made bean paste bun, and press it tightly with your hands.

18. Take two melon seeds as the center of the flower

19. Steam everything for 20 minutes, turn off the heat and simmer for two minutes before opening the lid.

20. Let the steamed bean paste buns cool down a bit, and they will become white and plump.
