Macheng meat cake is one of the traditional Han dishes of Macheng, Hubei. Remove the bones and skin of fresh fish, and remove the bones and skin of pork, and chop them into meat paste. Put sweet potato starch, water and salt in proportion into a bowl and mix with the meat paste. Add minced ginger, chopped green onion and other condiments, shape into round or square shapes, put into a steamer, and steam on high heat for 15 to 20 minutes. After the meat cake is out of the steamer, cut it into rectangular slices and arrange them on a fresh flower bowl in a pagoda shape. It can be cooked or refrigerated, and it tastes delicious.

Dongpo Braised Pork is a very distinctive traditional Han dish and a Hakka dish. The method is to wash the meat, fry it in oil to make the skin crispy, then color it and fry it again, then marinate it, put it in a steamer and steam it over low heat for 12 hours. When it comes out of the cage, it is golden in color, fat but not greasy, sweet and salty, with a rich aroma and a full meaty texture in the mouth.
