Tuberculosis diet recipes

Tuberculosis is a chronic infectious disease, the most common of which is lung infection. There are three types and three stages of tuberculosis, but there is more than one way to treat it. Reasonable and healthy eating habits and food selection play a vital auxiliary role in the recovery of any illness. So what kind of diet therapy should patients with tuberculosis adopt? Please see the following content.

Early stage or mild pulmonary tuberculosis may be asymptomatic or mild and thus ignored. If the lesion is in the active progressive stage, the following symptoms may occur:

1. Fever: manifested as low-grade fever in the afternoon, with body temperature rising between 4 and 8 pm, usually between 37 and 38 ℃. At this time, patients often experience general fatigue or weight loss, night sweats, and women may experience irregular menstruation or amenorrhea.

2. Cough and sputum: It is the most common early symptom of pulmonary tuberculosis, but it is also the most likely to cause patients or doctors to mistake it for a cold or tracheitis, leading to misdiagnosis.

3. Blood in sputum: There are blood streaks or small blood clots in the sputum. Most of the blood in the sputum is caused by tuberculosis.

Dietary guidance

Mainly adapted to the diet of tuberculosis patients

1. Guide patients to increase nutrition by eating chicken, fish, lean meat, eggs, milk, soy products, fresh vegetables and fruits rich in animal protein. High-quality animal protein foods should account for 50% of the protein intake.

2. A reasonable diet can not only ensure the recovery needs of tuberculosis patients, but also avoid excessive intake of nutrients, which will increase the burden on the liver.

3. Patients with drug-induced liver disease caused by the side effects of anti-tuberculosis drugs should be instructed to avoid eating high-calorie foods, such as fried foods, chocolate, etc., to prevent fatty degeneration of the liver and hinder the repair of liver cells. Patients who eat little are given intravenous supplements of appropriate amounts of albumin, heparin, amino acids, glucose, and vitamins.
