Portuguese egg tarts for beginners

Faced with so many delicious foods on the market now, I know that many people can’t resist the temptation, but there are many foods that are not clean. In this case, we can actually learn to cook at home. Let me first show you how to make the novice version of Portuguese egg tarts.

1. Leave the egg tart crust at room temperature for 30 minutes to help the frozen moisture in the crust dissipate.

2.12 Mix the milk and cream together.

3.21 Add powdered sugar to the above liquid and stir thoroughly until the powdered sugar melts. If you are using granulated sugar, heat it over a water bath, stirring until the sugar is dissolved, and set aside to cool to room temperature.

4. Beat the egg yolks. In fact, you can also add a little egg white in it. Add to the mixture of milk and whipping cream in 2-3 portions.

5. Add condensed milk to the above egg tart liquid, sift in low flour, stir thoroughly, and then sieve the egg tart liquid. The purpose of doing this is to form a delicate taste, which can be omitted if you do not pursue it.

6.1 Pour the egg tart liquid into the tart crust, and fill it 80% full. In case it expands during the baking process, you will not be able to control it... Leave room for it to expand appropriately!

7.2 Check the time, it’s almost time. Preheat the oven to 210° for 3-5 minutes (until the quartz tube turns dark), and place the egg tart crust on the baking tray.

8. Put the egg tarts with tart liquid into the oven and select the lower layer (the last layer of my oven is 2cm away from the heating tube, and the second layer is 5cm), so I put it on the second to last layer.

9. It will be ready in about 25 minutes and can be left in the residual heat for a while. If you want to get the same caramel color as the KFC egg tarts, then move the baking tray to the upper center of the oven at 20 minutes and bake for 5 minutes.

10. After making it for the first time, I found that the bottom of the egg tart was not cooked through when I ate it, and the tart crust was sticky, so I put it back in the oven and baked it on the bottom layer for 5 minutes. Based on this, I have improved the time, temperature and air-conditioning of the tart crust, so you can feel free to try it.

11. If you love desserts, add more powdered sugar. If you want blueberry flavor, it is recommended to cut fresh blueberries into small dices, at least enough to cover the tart liquid. If the blueberries are exposed to moisture and encounter heat, it will ruin your egg tart... You can also use blueberry jam O(∩_∩)O~
