Pumpkin eight-treasure rice

Pumpkin eight-treasure rice

Pumpkin Eight Treasure Rice is a common cooking method, especially in the twelfth lunar month of winter. Many people eat a bowl of Eight Treasure Rice after drinking Laba Porridge. After eating the Eight Treasure Rice, the New Year is getting closer and closer. Pumpkin Eight Treasure Rice is a relatively traditional food and the method is relatively simple. You can prepare an appropriate amount of lard, which will make it very sweet and not greasy. Let us learn about the homely method of making Pumpkin Eight Treasure Rice.

Pumpkin eight-treasure rice

Ingredients: 1 small round pumpkin, a little glutinous rice, a little black rice, a little lotus seeds, a little peanuts, a little red beans, a little raisins, a little pine nuts, a little pumpkin seeds, a little red bean paste, a little sugar, a little oil

Method: 1. First, soak the red beans, peanuts, and lotus seeds overnight. Soak the glutinous rice and black rice for 3-4 hours before steaming to make them softer. When steaming, put a little less water than when cooking rice. Add a little oil, put it in the steamer, and steam it over high heat for 30 minutes. 2. After steaming, add white sugar while it is still hot (you can control the sweetness yourself, add more if you like sweet food). 3. Wash the pumpkin, cut it in half and scoop out the flesh. 4. Add a layer of previously steamed eight-treasure rice, then a layer of raisins and pine nuts, then a layer of red bean paste, and finally another layer of eight-treasure rice. 5. Put it in the steamer and steam on high heat for 30 minutes.

Method 2

Ingredients: one pumpkin, appropriate amount of millet, rice, glutinous rice, kidney beans, peanuts, and raisins. Seasoning: honey, white sugar. Method: 1. Soak kidney beans and glutinous rice for about 5 hours. 2. Clean the outside of the pumpkin, slice off the top, hollow out the pumpkin seeds inside, and eat the pumpkin seeds after drying. 3. Wash the rice, millet, glutinous rice, kidney beans, and peanuts, and steam them in a pressure cooker. 4. Mix honey and a small amount of white sugar, and put them into the pumpkin cup. When placing the rice, put a layer of raisins on it, and then sprinkle another layer of raisins on the top. 5. Put it in the steamer and steam on medium-low heat for 30 minutes. I personally think that this pumpkin is not as delicious as the long old pumpkin for steaming eight-treasure rice. The rice steamed with old pumpkin is sweet and fragrant. The old pumpkin itself is also delicious, but the appearance is not as good-looking as this one, and it doesn’t have a lid.
