Does eating fish improve brain function?

In our lives, many people like to eat fish because fish has a high nutritional value. Eating fish regularly is good for our bodies. Fish is also rich in protein. Children should eat more brain-boosting foods when they are in the learning stage, so as not to overuse their brains. So, does eating fish regularly help to nourish the brain?

1. Carp

Carp has the functions of strengthening the spleen and appetite, promoting diuresis and reducing swelling, relieving cough and asthma, calming the fetus and promoting lactation, clearing away heat and detoxifying.

It can provide the human body with essential amino acids, minerals, vitamin A and vitamin D, and contains more unsaturated fatty acids, which can lower cholesterol, prevent and treat arteriosclerosis and coronary heart disease. Therefore, carp is suitable for patients with edema, swelling, and cardiovascular disease.

Taboos: People suffering from malignant tumors, lymph tuberculosis, lupus erythematosus, asthma, mumps in children, thromboangiitis obliterans, carbuncle, urticaria, skin eczema and other diseases should avoid eating it; people with hyperactivity of yang and sores should eat it with caution. Carp should not be eaten with mung beans, taro, beef and mutton fat, pork liver, chicken, schizonepeta, licorice, pumpkin, dog meat, and pickles.

2. Pomfret

It is sweet, flat and light in nature, and has the effects of invigorating qi and blood, nourishing the stomach and essence, lubricating joints, softening tendons and bones. It is especially suitable for people with indigestion, spleen deficiency and diarrhea, anemia, and muscle and bone pain.

Dietary restrictions: Patients with itchy skin diseases should avoid eating these foods. Furthermore, the fish roe is poisonous and cannot be eaten. In addition, pomfret should not be fried with beef or mutton fat.

3. Catfish

Eating catfish and red dates together will cause hair loss.

Catfish should not be eaten with beef liver and beef. If you accidentally eat it and feel unwell, you can drink human milk to relieve the discomfort. "Illustrated Materia Medica" records: "Do not eat it with beef liver, as it will cause wind-related choking and drooling." It is common for children to drool and grind their teeth while sleeping. Chinese medicine believes that this is due to stomach heat or parasites in the body. Taking Chinese medicine is very effective. At the same time, we always remind parents not to give their children catfish and beef during treatment. I haven't heard any feedback about what would happen after eating it. No parent would knowingly do that, so I can't find any examples of the consequences of eating it.

4. Mandarin fish

It is sweet and flat in nature, suitable for people with weak constitution, consumptive emaciation, spleen and stomach qi deficiency, loss of appetite, and malnutrition.

Taboo: People with excessive cold and dampness in the body, hemoptysis, and asthma should not eat mandarin fish.

5. Turtle

Eating soft-shelled turtle and amaranth together may cause vomiting, abdominal pain, hepatosplenomegaly and other symptoms. "Golden Chamber Synopsis" records: "Turtle and tortoise meat cannot be eaten together with amaranth." Wu Qian of the Qing Dynasty said: "Turtle and tortoise are opposite to amaranth. If they are eaten together, they will cause turtle tumors." Turtle tumors are equivalent to what we call hepatosplenomegaly in modern times.

It is not suitable to eat soft-shelled turtle with oranges: Oranges contain more fruit acid. If eaten with soft-shelled turtle which contains more protein, the fruit acid can coagulate with the protein and affect protein absorption.

It is not suitable to eat soft-shelled turtle with chicken eggs or duck eggs. "The meat of birds, beasts, fish and insects" in "Golden Chamber Essentials" states: "Its meat must not be eaten together with chicken and duck." Eating it will cause chills, and it is especially not suitable for people with weak and cold constitutions.

Soft-shelled turtle should not be eaten with pork, rabbit meat, duck meat, or mustard. Sun Simiao pointed out: "Do not eat pork, rabbit or duck meat together, as it will harm you. Do not eat mustard seeds together, as it will cause bad sores."
