How to cook venison stewed in red wine

1. Chop the venison into coarse pieces and put it into a large bowl. Add cloves, bay leaves, chopped thyme, a garlic clove, freshly ground black pepper and salt to taste.

2. Pour in a whole bottle of red wine, cover with plastic wrap, and marinate in the refrigerator overnight

Add the venison cubes again, sprinkle with cumin seeds and stir-fry for two minutes. Add tomato paste and red wine marinade, cover the pot and bring all the ingredients to a boil over high heat, then simmer on low heat for 1.5-2 hours. After the venison is tender, turn up the heat to reduce the sauce to your preferred consistency, then add salt and pepper to taste.
