2.1 Drain the soaked glutinous rice and put it into the prepared lotus root. Add more glutinous rice and use chopsticks to fill it up while cooking. It will taste better when cooked with more glutinous rice.

3.2 Rinse the glutinous rice and soak it in water for at least two hours.

4. After the lotus root is filled with glutinous rice, seal the cut with the pre-cut lotus root cap to prevent the glutinous rice from flowing out during the cooking process. (Use toothpicks to fix it for simplicity and convenience) Put the sealed lotus root into the pot, and add red dates and rock sugar.

5. After the water boils, add an appropriate amount of brown sugar and a little dried rose petals according to your preference for sweetness, cover the pot, and simmer over low heat until the glutinous rice and lotus root are soft. (It is best to use osmanthus for flavoring. If you have osmanthus sugar or something like that, you don’t need to add rose.)

6. After cooking, take out the glutinous rice lotus root, let it cool, cut into slices and eat.
