How to make Yatsuhashi, a specialty snack in Kyoto, Japan

1. Prepare all the ingredients. Soybean powder is the kind used in Japanese desserts. If you don’t have it, you can fry the raw soybean powder and add fine sugar according to your preference.

2. Put glutinous rice flour, sugar, water, and cinnamon powder (sprinkle about 10 times) into a heat-resistant container and stir well.

3. Wrap the bowl with plastic wrap, put it in the microwave for 3 minutes, take it out and stir it into a dough, then put it in the microwave for another 3 minutes

4. Spread plastic wrap on the table and sprinkle soybean powder on the plastic wrap.

5. Take out 3, roll it thinly on soybean powder, sprinkle another layer of soybean powder on the surface, and roll it until the thickness is about 2-3mm

6. Cut 5 into small square pieces about 7cm long and wide

7. Place the filling on the diagonal half of the square and fold it in half
