How to cook Chinese sausage rice in rice cooker

Nowadays, there are more and more electrical appliances in homes, and rice cookers are something that almost every household has. Generally, people use rice cookers to cook rice, but in fact, its functions are far more than that. Smart and lazy people like to use rice cookers to cook. In one pot, there are vegetables, meat and rice. More importantly, there is basically no failure. When making this kind of stewed rice, sausage is the most suitable ingredient. Let’s talk about how to make sausage rice in a rice cooker.

Rice cooker version of bacon stewed rice:

Ingredients: 300 grams of bacon, 400 grams of carrots, 200 grams of asparagus, 500 grams of Northeast rice, 2 grams of salt, 10 grams of oyster sauce, and 10 grams of premium straw mushroom dark soy sauce.

1. Dice the carrots first. Boil the bacon in water for about 5 minutes, then wash and dice.

2. Put a little oil in the pan, fry the minced ginger until fragrant, then add the diced bacon and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes to allow some of the fat to come out. Bacon is salty, so when adding salt, soy sauce and oyster sauce, you must fully consider the salt content of this part.

3. Then add carrots, add a little boiling water and cook for a while. This is to allow some of the salt in the bacon to be cooked out, then add salt and dark soy sauce and stir-fry evenly.

4. After washing the rice, put it into the inner pot of the rice cooker, pour the fried vegetables on the surface of the rice, and then add an appropriate amount of water. The amount of water is critical. Too much water will make the rice watery and soft, too little water will make the rice undercooked. My personal experience is that the amount of water in the rice should be slightly equal to the amount of vegetables, and just a little less is just right. After finishing, turn on the stove to cook.

5. While waiting for the rice to be cooked, first peel off the old roots of the asparagus, then cut into cubes, and stir-fry with oyster sauce and a little salt for half a minute. Asparagus cannot be cooked for a long time, so add it in the last 2 minutes to keep it crispy and tender. The reason for stir-frying the asparagus in advance is that it is difficult for the asparagus to absorb the flavor when it is added at the end. You want to give the asparagus some basic flavor first. Therefore, the amount of salt and oyster sauce when stir-frying asparagus should be enough for the asparagus.

6. When there are 2 minutes left in the cooking time, open the rice cooker, put the asparagus on the surface, and wait for two minutes. Then you can open the pot and stir evenly. After turning the bottom up a little, you can see a layer of burnt rice crust. This layer of rice crust is super delicious, with a burnt aroma, but not very hard, and it won't stick to the bottom of the pot.
