How to make white wine at home 1. Grape selection. Although we choose to ferment grape juice to make white wine, in order to avoid some color entering during the pressing process, we generally use white grape varieties to make white grapes, so that your wine will have a better color. 2. Prevent oxidation. Preventing oxidation is the most important step in making white wine, which is reflected in: pinching grapes to prevent oxidation, squeezing grape juice to prevent oxidation, and preventing oxidation during the fermentation process. It is better to use a fermentation container with a slender height-to-diameter ratio. 6. Clarify first. The squeezed grape juice will inevitably have some residue mixed in it. What we want to use is the grape juice without grape skin residue for fermentation. Fermentation time. The fermentation of red wine generally takes 7-10 days. White wine fermentation generally takes 15 days. If secondary fermentation is taken into account, the wine will take longer. 8. Container selection. In order to prevent oxidation, narrow-mouthed containers are generally used for fermentation. It is somewhat similar to the container used to store wine. The amount of grape juice in the container cannot be too little, and the top of the container cannot be empty. 9. Purchase auxiliary materials.
