Hong Kong style mochi recipe

Now that people’s lives are better, they have become more careful about what they eat. In the past, people ate to fill their stomachs. Nowadays people eat it to prolong their life. So, how can we use "eating" to prolong our life? You still have to achieve it by yourself. Now, I will introduce the method of making Hong Kong-style mochi.

1. Get all the ingredients for mochi.

2. Put glutinous rice flour, starch, peanut oil, fresh milk and water in a large bowl.

3. Mix evenly with a whisk and add fine sugar until the sugar dissolves.

4. Add a little orange drinking coloring and mix well. (Optional)

Put a little butter in a 5.9-inch square pan.

6. Spread the butter on the bottom of the mold, less than 2 inches high on all four sides.

7. Pour the evenly mixed glutinous rice paste into the mold.

8. Put it in a steamer and steam until cooked.

9. Take it out and insert a toothpick and pull it out. If it is not sticky, it means it is cooked.

10. Pour the steamed mochi onto a plate and let it cool.

11. Put peanut powder and fine sugar in a small bowl and mix well.

12. Use a spatula to cut the cooled mochi into 1-inch wide strips.

13. Then cut it all into silk shapes.

14. Dip it in peanut candy powder.

15. It’s a simplified version of “Hong Kong-style mochi”!
