How to make your own lard

1. First, choose pork suet with pink and white color, wrapped with a thin film on the back, and it will be fat and thick after cutting.

2. Then wash the surface of the lard with warm water.

4. Put it in the pot. I used a stainless steel pot because there was about 7 or 8 kilograms of oil and the wok couldn’t hold it all at once. The pot is deep and the oil is not likely to splash out.

5. Add a bowl of water and a spoonful of white wine to the pork lard. Start with high heat and stir the lard constantly to evenly mix it. When oil starts to come out of the pot, turn to low heat and simmer it slowly. Stir it from time to time in the middle to ensure even heating.

6. Wait until the oil residue in the pot turns slightly yellow and the lard turns golden yellow before turning off the heat. Then use a colander to scoop out the oil residue and press out the remaining oil, and finally pour out the lard.

7. Wait until the lard cools and solidifies and turns milky white.
