How to Steam Ginseng

The way we usually consume ginseng is to soak it in water and drink it directly, or use it in stewing soup, etc. As for the method of steaming ginseng, it is relatively rare. In fact, steaming ginseng will cause the nutrients of ginseng to be lost in the water. It is best to drink the steamed ginseng and add medicinal materials such as red dates and longan. This is the best way to recover after childbirth and illness.

1. Steaming method: Take 5-10 grams of ginseng each time, cut it into small pieces, put it into a small amount of cold water and soak it overnight. On the next day, add a few red dates and longans, steam it in water for half an hour, and drink the concentrated juice. It can be steamed several times in a row. When the taste of the soup becomes lighter, you can eat it together with the soup and ginseng. The effect will be better if you use special porcelain with an inner lid when steaming ginseng.

2. Drinking tea: After slicing the ginseng, take 3 to 5 grams daily, add boiling water, cover and soak. After about 2 hours, drink it in small amounts multiple times. It is best to take it in the morning on an empty stomach or before going to bed at night. Suitable for patients with chronic diseases or those who are weak and sick.

3. Oral dissolution method: After slicing the ginseng, take about 1 gram each time, 2 to 3 times a day, put it in the mouth and dissolve it. After 1 to 2 hours, chew and swallow the expanded ginseng slices. Suitable for those who wish to strengthen their body, cure diseases and prolong their life.

4. Ginseng wine soaking method: Soak the whole ginseng in 500 ml of white wine, cover it tightly and it can be consumed after 2 to 3 weeks, drink 15 to 20 ml every night. Suitable for people suffering from muscle and bone pain, numbness of limbs, and blocked meridians.

5. How to take ginseng powder: Crush the ginseng into powder and take it with water, 1 to 3 grams each time, 2 to 3 times a day. For patients with lung deficiency, wheezing and cough, add an equal amount of Gecko (ground into powder) and take them together. For patients with chills, cold limbs, and deficiency of both qi and blood, add an equal amount of placenta.

6. How to cook chicken with ginseng: Slice the ginseng and take 3 to 9 grams. Put it into a casserole with a young chicken and add appropriate amount of water. Bring to a boil over high heat first, then simmer until cooked through. Take the soup and the chicken in several servings. Suitable for people who are weak after major surgery or heavy bleeding.

In addition, the elderly should be careful when taking ginseng. They should stop taking ginseng immediately when they have the initial stage of external infection, severe internal heat, hyperactivity of liver yang, nose or gum bleeding, and chest tightness, abdominal distension, loose stools, etc. caused by dampness and food stagnation. While taking ginseng, you should not eat radish, strong tea, crab, mung bean, etc.
