Eight Treasure Rice Pudding is a traditional delicacy of the Han nationality and a festive food custom during the Laba Festival. It is popular all over the country, especially in the south of the Yangtze River. The recipes in different places are similar. Basically, the glutinous rice is steamed, mixed with sugar, oil, and osmanthus, and poured into a container filled with red dates, coix seeds, lotus seeds, longan, and other fruit ingredients. After steaming, it is poured with sugar marinade. It has a sweet taste and is a great dish for festivals and entertaining guests.

Preparation of ingredients for cold drink eight-treasure rice

After dry mixing material 1, add fresh milk and cook until the temperature reaches 90℃. Remove from heat and divide into 2 equal portions for later use.

Take 1 equal portion and add instant coffee, mix well. Then add 2 sifted egg yolks and mix well. Finally, add 100 grams of fresh cream and mix well. After sifting, pour it into a pudding cup mold to make coffee milk pudding.

Production process of cold drink eight-treasure rice

Put the milk and canned fruit in the refrigerator in advance (soak the condensed milk in warm water so you don’t have to wait for it to cool down before putting it in the refrigerator. If you want it to freeze faster, you can freeze it, but don’t forget to do so, otherwise it will become ice cubes). Wash and soak the glutinous rice, then steam it in a pot and let it cool. After the canned milk has cooled, add the glutinous rice into a bowl (to make it look better, put the glutinous rice in a small bowl first and then turn it upside down in a large bowl). Pour in milk, canned fruit, sprinkle some sesame seeds, raisins and crushed peanuts, and you can eat it.

Note :

Wash the glutinous rice and add half the amount of water than usual for cooking rice (so that it doesn’t become too soft).

Next, prepare the other ingredients. You can wash them with boiling water and set aside. The cooked rice grains will be full but not cracked, and very chewy. Take a small bowl and put plastic wrap on it, put the glutinous rice into a slightly flattened upside-down plate, place these 7 dried fruits on it and when eating, add milk and appropriate amount of sugar to enjoy the summer dessert without open flame.
