How to eat Baicaoguo

Tsaoko is the fruit of a herbaceous plant. When the fruit is ripe and dried, it becomes the Tsaoko we see. Tsaoko has a unique aroma. Adding some Tsaoko when cooking dishes will not only make the dishes more delicious, but also remove the fishy and muttony smells in the dishes. Therefore, when making foods such as meat or fish, you must add some Tsaoko. Tsaoko is a common condiment in the kitchen.

Beef cooked with grass fruit is very delicious.

Ingredients:

3000g beef shank, 3 grass fruits

seasoning:

A little green onion, a little ginger, some soy sauce, 1 spoon of yellow sauce

practice:

Wash the beef and prepare seasonings; cut the beef into large pieces (300-400 grams per piece), soak it in clean water for more than 4 hours to remove the fishy smell, and change the water several times in the middle; cut the scallion into sections, slice the ginger, and flatten the cardamom with the back of a knife; put the beef in cold water and cook it thoroughly over high heat, remove it and rinse it; put it back into the pot and add cardamom, scallion, ginger, light soy sauce, and yellow paste; add clean water to cover the beef, bring to a boil over high heat, then turn to medium-low heat for 20 minutes; cook the beef with cardamom and serve.

【Cooking Tips】

1. It is best to soak the beef in clean water for more than 4 hours to remove the bloody smell;

2. Children under 3 years old do not need to add soybean paste, which is light and beneficial to children's health;

3. Do not pour out the soup used to cook the beef. Put it into a thicker plastic bag or box and freeze it. You can use it next time you braise the beef. After braising for several times, it will become an old soup, and the beef stewed in the old soup will taste better;

4. The braised beef will be easier to slice after it cools down naturally, and the effect will be better after it is refrigerated;

5. For younger children, it is best to heat the food thoroughly before eating, otherwise it will hurt their stomach.

The role of grass fruit:

1. Antitussive and expectorant effects:

The α- and β-pinene contained in this product have antitussive and expectorant effects. 1,8-cineole has analgesic, antipyretic and antiasthmatic effects.

2. Anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects:

Beta-pinene has strong anti-inflammatory and antifungal properties. Geraniol has antibacterial and antifungal effects, and the minimum inhibitory concentration for Trichophyton mentagrophytes and Microsporum audouinii is 0.39 mg/ml.

3. Other functions:

Small doses of geraniol can inhibit the spontaneous activity of rats. Oral administration of geraniol to rats can inhibit gastrointestinal motility, and small amounts can have a mild diuretic effect. Geraniol also has the effect of expelling guinea pig roundworms.

Effects of Amomum villosum:

It is mainly used to treat malaria, phlegm and fluid distension, cold pain in the abdomen, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and food accumulation. It is the formula of many Chinese patent medicines, such as Tougu Soufeng Pills, Yishen Pills, Kaiyu Shugan Pills, Kuanxiong Lifei Pills, Jiebai Pills, etc.

Amomum villosum is not only medicinal but also edible. It is an excellent cooking condiment and one of the food seasonings. Using it to cook food can increase people's appetite.
