Lily is an ingredient with relatively high nutritional value. It can be used to stew soup, make porridge, or soak in water. Fresh lilies are dried and become dried lilies, which can also play a good role in health care, especially in moistening the lungs, relieving coughs, nourishing the heart and calming the nerves. When we buy fresh lilies, we can dry them ourselves and make them into dried lilies for preservation. How to dry lilies After buying lilies, pick and wash them, then cook them as you normally would. However, turn off the heat after they boil, and do not need to be cooked through. After they cool, pack them into plastic bags according to the amount for one meal, and then put them in the freezer. They can be stored for a long time. Next time you want to eat them, just take out a bag and wait for them to thaw before cooking. Select materials . Select fresh lilies with thick bulbs, free from pests and diseases, mechanical damage and of high quality as raw materials. Peeling. Use scissors to cut off the fibrous roots of the selected lily bulbs, and peel off the scales from the outside to the inside. Be careful to peel and place them gently to prevent damage. Cleaning. Pour the peeled scales into clean water, separate the outer, middle and inner layers, and the yellow, white and spotted colors, and stir gently. After washing, remove them, drain the water, and stack them separately for later use. Cook . Before cooking, wash the iron pot, pour in about 2/3 of the pot capacity of water, heat to boil, then pour in 5 to 10 kg of lily scales, stir 1 to 2 times with a spoon, cover the pot and cook. Boil the outer scales over high heat for 6 to 7 minutes and the inner scales for 2 to 3 minutes. When cooking, often open the lid to observe the changes in the color of the scales. When the scales change from white to beige, and then from beige to white, immediately remove them from the pot. Sulfur fumigation (this step can be omitted for small-scale household processing). After taking the lilies out of the pot, place them in clean water immediately and let them cool down quickly. For dried lilies that need to be preserved for a long time, sulfur fumigation is also required. The method is: after taking out of the pot and drying until half dry, use 800 grams of sulfur for 100 kilograms of dried lilies, place charcoal fire in the sulfur fumigation room, close the doors and windows and fumigate for 10 hours. Dry in the sun. Spread the boiled and sulfur-fumigated lilies thinly on a drying mat and expose them to the sun for 3 to 4 days. When they break easily by hand, they are ready. If it is rainy after cooking sulfur fumigation, it should be placed in a ventilated place indoors. But avoid accumulation. Dry in time when the weather is sunny. If it is cloudy and rainy for several days in a row, the clothes should be dried by baking to prevent mildew. Package. The dried lily slices are first graded, and then packed in food plastic bags, 500 grams per bag, sealed with a vacuum sealer, and then packed into sacks or cartons and placed in a ventilated and dry place. The efficacy and function of lily From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, lily tastes sweet and slightly bitter and is slightly cold in nature. It is a nourishing product that can cool blood and clear heat, nourish yin and moisten dryness, and strengthen the stomach and regulate the spleen. Its nourishing effects are comparable to ginseng. 1. Fresh lilies are sweet and delicious, and have the effects of moistening the lungs and relieving coughs, nourishing the heart and calming the mind. 2. Fresh lilies are rich in mucus, which can strengthen the stomach and nourish the lungs. They are suitable for patients with bad breath, mouth ulcers, coughs, tuberculosis and palpitations, but they should not be eaten in excess. If used together with Fritillaria cirrhosa, the effect of treating yin deficiency cough and lung dryness will be better. 3. Lily is refreshing, dry and cool, and it protects the heart and lungs. It can effectively improve mental confusion, restlessness, palpitations, insomnia and residual heat after fever. The effect will be better if used with Rehmannia root. 4. Lily contains a variety of bioalkaloids that can prevent and treat cancer, prevent leukopenia, and increase blood cell count. It can effectively inhibit cell reduction after radiotherapy and chemotherapy. In addition, lily can enhance the mononuclear cell system, improve the body's humoral immunity, and effectively prevent various cancers. 5. Lily is rich in mucus and various vitamins, which can promote the metabolism of skin cells and beautify the skin. It should be noted that lily is slightly cool and is not suitable for patients with cold stomach. Patients with cold stomach should try to eat less or no lily. Moreover, while lily replenishes qi, it can easily damage the lung qi, so it is not advisable to take too much, especially for patients with wind-cold cough and cold bleeding. |
