Quick recipe for cooking tapioca pearls

1. Pour an appropriate amount of water into the rice cooker and press the cooking button. Wait for the water to boil (remember to wait until the water boils before adding tapioca pearls). Then open the lid and pour in the tapioca pearls. Stir with a spoon to spread them out. Then close the lid of the rice cooker and cook for about 15-20 minutes (this depends on how much tapioca pearls you cook).

2. Wait for 15-20 minutes. Unplug the switch, and you can open the lid to see that the tapioca pearls may not be fully cooked at this time, and there are still white spots in the middle. Don't worry, cover the lid and wait for another 5-8 minutes before opening it. You will find that the tapioca pearls have become transparent. Here, use the heat preservation function of the pot to cook the tapioca pearls thoroughly.

3. After cooking, remember to take it out and rinse it with cold water or ice water, so that the sago can be scattered one by one and not stick together.

Nutritional value of sago

Sago is produced in the South Pacific Islands. It is made from the pith of the palm plant sago using the ordinary starch making method, which involves a process of crushing, sieving, repeated rinsing, precipitation, and drying. When the starch is half dry, it is shaken into fine particles and then dried again to become sago. Tapioca is almost pure starch, white, smooth and glutinous, and very nutritious.

The "Yellow Emperor's Internal Classic" says that whole grains are our staple food and are essential to our daily diet. Sago is also considered a whole grain and has rich nutritional functions for our human body. Sago can provide our body with the necessary carbohydrates, fats, proteins, iron, phosphorus, calcium, etc.

Sago has the effects of strengthening the spleen, nourishing the lungs, and resolving phlegm. It can treat weak spleen and stomach and indigestion. Because sago is easy to digest and absorb, it has the effects of improving anemia, enhancing immunity, and balancing nutrient absorption. At the same time, sago also has the function of restoring the skin's natural moisture. Therefore, tapioca pearls are very popular among people, especially women.
