It is a good tonic to drink fish maw and quail soup in winter, but it is not suitable in summer because quail and fish maw are both nutritious and drinking them in summer can easily cause getting a sore throat. It is suitable to drink as a tonic in autumn and winter, but people with excessive liver fire or those who already have internal heat should not drink it.

【Fish Maw and Quail Soup】

Ingredients: fish maw, quail, ginger, and shiitake mushrooms.

Ingredients & soup pot: salt, casserole.

1. Wash the quail, chop it into pieces and blanch it in hot water for a few minutes before taking it out.

2. Soak the fish maw in advance, wash the shiitake mushrooms after soaking, peel the ginger and slice it.

3. Prepare a casserole, pour in an appropriate amount of water, and put the quail, fish maw, shiitake mushrooms and ginger slices into the casserole.

4. Bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer over low heat for 1.5 hours. Add salt to taste.

Quail soup has the effects of nourishing the kidney and essence, moistening the lungs and nourishing the body. It is very suitable for tonic in the cool autumn. Red dates have the effects of strengthening the spleen, warming and resolving phlegm. Quail meat can nourish the middle and replenish qi, benefit the five internal organs, and strengthen the body.
