7. Add rice cake slices. (If it is frozen rice cake, remember to break each piece apart first.) Cover 4/5 of the bowl with plastic wrap and heat in the microwave on high for 2 minutes. (My rice cake is frozen and very thin, so it takes 2 minutes. If it is a type of rice cake that is more difficult to cook, just extend the heating time, or cook it in a pot instead)

8.Sprinkle with basil leaves. The warm rice cake soup is ready.
